Description

Having fun with this magnificent sculpture.
This is a composite with added effects. This is close to scale.

Ripley's Believe it or Not Exhibit at Memphis Zoo.

A Thailand-based creative group constructs life-sized sculptures of animals out of thousands of rubber ribbons cut from motorcycle and bicycle tire treads. Each sculpture in the series has an inner metal rebar and wire armature to create the underlying shape and provide support for the massive weight of the tire tread ribbons. The pieces of tire tread are layered to resemble the texture of animal fur.

This is just amazing Candace. What a fantastic look and what a beautiful work you did. I love how that gorilla looks like it just as soon eat that man or inflict some serious pain to him. It is definitely an imposing figure. Love your details, the colors and setting are gorgeous, the whole look is beautifully presented. Got to see it again, How can we not? Love it Candace. #11681874
