Opening her sidewalk shop for another hot day, she already looks weary. And still graciously answered my questions about Cabo San Lucas. In her broken English and my broken Spanish we spoke for some time while I waited in the shade of her tented wares. Her eyes were amazing. They weren't really a color as much as glossy specks. As we spoke, I felt I was looking through a smooth, clear piece of glass. Drawing me deep into their depths I could almost see her moments of struggle; times of joy, a hard life lived with strength and honor.
