Description

Black & White Minimalism is when you have a composition where 'less is more' . They create powerful yet simple & intriguing images by including a large amount of empty space. My goal was two-fold this week; to capture a model in low key lighting & have as little detail as possible. This model was light painted with a fixed flash light on a light stand behind her head. I used a cable remote on bulb setting in total darkness. The light wraps around her neck & chin just enough to reveal her silhouette, neck & shoulders. For me, finding the figure traced in light is what makes this an interesting image, one that makes you want to keep on looking :)
My settings were: F8 1/5 iso 100 @ 24mm on manual
