Description

The Goddess of Autumn has just awakened. She stands with her face uplifted to the dawn. A brisk breeze stirs her hair. Small leaves have gotten caught in the strands. A red bird is perched on her shoulder. Her sister Summer has given her the last rose of her season to place behind her ear. Summer will become a distant memory soon as the leaves continue to change and the days become cooler. But for now, she will enjoy the suns warm rays and she will encourage the creatures of the forest to gather food to store for winter.
I started with the woman as background and used several textures to get the effect of a warm Autumn morning. The bird and leaves on her shoulders and red rose were added as composite images but were taken in my garden in Southern Oregon. This image was processed in Topaz Studio Impression. Small Autumn leaves in the model's hair were added with a Photoshop brush.
