Description

This was hanging on my portico near the ornamental milkweed plants. The butterfly wings are visible meaning it is close to emergence. Because of the date, this is the generation that will migrate over 2,000 miles from New Jersey to Mexico. Other generations live only a few weeks; but these survive for about 9 months to start the new cycle.
