Looking For The Southbound Train

Uploaded: September 04, 2017

Description

This once was a thriving community overlooking a beautiful valley, with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fog-covered distance. This community had it's own train station, hotel, two General Stores, a bank, & a Post Office. Now this area is seldom explored by the average traveler. The train station is no longer there & the narrow crooked road is rather dangerous with little protection between you & the high bluff which leads to the river below. The 1915 trestle bridge crosses the James River & Norfolk Southern uses these tracks. Another set of CSX tracks follow alongside the river. Too bad I couldn't get a train passing by!
My settings were F14 ss 1/13 sec iso 100 Tripod, overcast, at end of day. 18mm 18-135mm lens Used Topaz Impression at 30%.
