Description

Tamron 28-300mm, 3 image HDR. F11, ISO1250. The SS Columbia, the oldest remaining excursion steamship in the United States, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and designated as an historic landmark in 1992. Columbia has undergone a $1.6 million hull restoration and is now docked at Silo City (the old grain mills) in the Buffalo River, Buffalo, NY. Stabilization work continues in Buffalo and the 114-year-old boat has been rechristened as a cultural venue – a place for arts and education. After restoration, she will be docked in New York City and will make day excursion trips upriver, stopping at cities and towns and providing New Yorkers and tourists access to the great parks, historic sites, and cultural institutions of the Hudson Valley.
