First of all, this scene was metered by the camera using averaging meter. Then as is usual with most of my exposures of Fuji color slide film 100-400, I under expose about 1/3 to 1/2 stop, depending on the brightness of the scene. I try to shoot with as slow a shutter speed as is consistent with the action. In this shot, the action was coming straight at me, therefore was able to use from 125 to 250 sec. Made two exposures of each shot, as fast as the camera would shoot. Many photogs are confused by the dust clouds, thinking that the dust is darkening the scene. The opposite is true, the dust is brighter than the surrounding area! #220Lou Greenberg May 05, 2001
Yes, sorry that I forget the Nikon designation matrix, it is an averaging type of meter. #230Donna R. Moratelli September 10, 2001
Hi Lou, This is a real show stopper. I have to enlarge it every single time I browse by. Are you still shooting equestrian scenes? I would really like to see some more of your Photographs. ANYTHING! Havn't seen any recently. Do you have any new pictures? regards, Donna #1046Carl J. Morrison March 10, 2002
Lou,Your current "Mitten 2" shot brought me to your gallery...wow what a photographer you are....children, landscapes, and THIS. Have you sold this picture, seems like I've seen it as a cowboy boot ad. Right?
Thoroughly perfect picture!
