Half a Cup

Description

Stealing an image title used a long time back by Joanna K for this one!

First the cup broke in half after falling on the floor, then later my polarizer fell out and broke while I was shooting some glazed bowls. I saved the cup for photos (of course) and when the new polarizer arrived, used the cup to test it out. The good news is the new polarizer is much better than the one that broke. Shot in my kitchen with afternoon light creating the shadows.

Congratulations to all the May Finalists! I'm trying to dig myself out of piles of work so I can review them properly and comment later.

A wonderful title and capture Martha! I had the same problem with a polarizing filter, they don't bounce real well at all! Your lighting here is outstanding, I hope we get to see this one again! #11609925

Great shot, Martha! I have never used a polarizer, but I'm intrigued by the idea of using one. What does it do? I'm having trouble taking shots in bright sun. Does it help with that? I love the detail, DOF, and bokeh in this shot (great title, too!) ;o) Fav! #11610224
