Springtime Snack

Description

A couple of wild parrots from the Telegraph Hill flock, snacking on seeds from a flowering shrub in a park up the street from me. San Francisco hosts 3 wild parrot flocks, most famously this one that controls northeastern corner and downtown area. Its members are the offspring of escaped pets, so truly wild birds. While not as famous, lots of cities host parrot flocks, even cold ones like Chicago!

Ah wild parrots with great colors. In Florida we had lots of wild parakeets that hung out on the wires. #11570391

It would be such fun to have these in the neighborhood. The only wild parrot type birds I've seen locally are the green monk parakeets (bigger than those you'd usually think of). A pair of those visits the backyard bird feeders on occasion. #11570394
