Encrusted Symmetry

Description

Details from an old wrought iron gate featuring a grapevine motif. Scaled for a driveway entry, the story is that it may have once adorned the rear entry to the grounds of Stan Hywet Hall, the 1915 Akron estate of Goodyear Tire founder Frank Seiberling. It is now installed, rather incongruously, out in the middle of the Tucson desert in a very tiny private cemetery. The gate has been painted over countless times, giving the whole thing a crackled, alligator-skin texture. PG101 Symmetry Theme.

Nice - makes me wonder how many more years it'll be there? #11553098

Thanks; yeah, the paint and the dessert environment could help preserve it forever, I suppose...! #11553255
