Description

I shot this over the summer while I was at Lake Wallenpaupack to capture the sunset. I had one camera on the tripod and was shooting the ducks with the other. This guy was very cooperative but after a few shots I noticed he had a hook in his back end. I tried to get him to come close enough so I could possible hold him and get it out but he was not that cooperative. There was a welcome center close by so I went there to report it. They told me that the ducks on this lake get hooked by fisherman and ran over by boaters all the time.

Thank you all so much, unfortunately I do not know if this duck ever was helped. They do have a small group that helps the wildlife but they have limited resources. I showed the the person at the welcome center the photo and where I had seen the duck. #11529307
