To the Monk's Chambers

Description

Cluny Abbey is a grand, medieval, Benedictine monastery with a majestic bell tower, cloisters and museum. The monks wore the finest linen religious habits and silk vestments at Mass. Artifacts exemplifying the wealth of Cluny Abbey are today on display at the Musée de Cluny in Paris.

This picture of an ornate staircase leading to their private chambers in a bright yellow hallway works better as a monochrome, inverted for display. The corridor was very dimly lit and, so, a high ISO was needed.

We had the first meeting of my camera club last week. We had a speaker talking about monochrome images; he showed the results of using the Invert Tool. I experimented. One can't transition from the color image to the Invert directly - in other words, one must produce a monochrome image first. The Invert Tool essentially creates a B&W negative; accordingly, I think it really works well for architectural pictures. #11517192
