Used the tripod to try and control variables. Same focal length & point of focus. Aperture was f/8.0 - as small as this camera goes. You have to zoom in to see the differences - slightly more foreground and background detail. I could talk about other differences vignetting & contrast but I wanted to focus on DOF for this camera. BTW used manual focus - still having trouble figuring out how this camera focuses. More in next pair - the frog pics.
