Description

I took this photo of a bathroom on the lower level of the Fox Theater. Originally known as West’s Theater, for its owner Ed West, a Trinidad, Colorado businessman, this theater was designed by local Trinidad architects I.H. & W.M. Rapp. Construction began on February 17, 1907. It seated 1200 people and hopefully will someday be returned to its original splendor.

Great "moody" lighting for the subject matter, and great texture detail in your image! (Trinidad is a town rich in history!) #1663217

Thanks Cary, I live in T'dad and it is imminently photogenic! I've written to the Colorado Historical Society and implored them to help restore this theater. It is a gem that is slowly disintegrating...... #11496027

Great news! I found out that the Fox Theater has been purchased by Dana Campbells group! She is a world class preservationist that has restored several historic areas in Denver. This theater is on the road to restoration! #11496756

I'll have to get over to the other side of The Divide and see it when it's restored! #11496758
