Finalist - Details & Macro - June 2016
Detail of an amphibious freshwater snail known as the apple snail. It has gills to breathe in water (where it lives mostly), but also has a lung to breathe air when it seeks food on land. This shell is a remnant found long after the snail was gone, and the shell weathered by time and the elements. Minor adjustments in PS CC, and a bit of color enhancement with Topaz ReStyle.
