Steens, Stars & Storm

Description

Storm over a small eastern Oregon town ( New Princeton or Crane?). I'm not familiar enough with the area to be sure. There were constant bursts of lightning during this long exposure and I was lucky enough to get a huge one at around the one hour mark at which point I stopped it. I'm also not sure what the orange glow is but it could be from fires caused by this storm. I'll have to take a closer look (from my 700) at other images I have from this 3 hour long storm as it moved from east to west. Taken from the East Rim Overlook, Steens Mountain, Oregon. P.S. This is one image, none of that "star stacked" stuff for me!

Exif: F Number: 2.8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 3630/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 50, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 14.00 mm, Model: NIKON D800

As usual, a fantastic image combining a lot or elements, Randy! I'm not sure I'd be up that early! Beautifully done! #1626813

This is such a awesome capture. So cool to have clear skies with the storm in the background, with the lightning. #11346178
