Great shot, Ralph! #348544Wayne Nolting December 17, 2005 0
This is the first shot where I have seen the full arch and see it's actual size. Usually the shots are through the arch and you don't see the whole "structure. Where is this?. Very intersting red reflection on the underside. #2193478

Ralph -Initially I would say this is great shot but with the person on the arch I must temper my enthusiasm. Behavior such as this in out Nat. Parks can not be tolerated: 1) there is a definate ban on climbing the arches in Canyonlands to protect the arch and the people, 2) continued behavior such as this is going to cause the NPS to begin fencing and then the good photo ops will be lost to all of us, 3) safety is another issue - it is a 1000-ft drop should this person have fallen. I hope you were not the instigator of this behavior - and this type of behavior for a photograph should not be incouraged. #2197744
