Tall, skinny, residential sky scrapers like this are springing up all over Manhattan, NYC. This one, at 1,396 ft, will be the tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere upon its completion in 2015. The penthouse apartment has been sold for over $90 Million. Personally, I think it's an ugly building, and it just plain looks like a target to me!

The height is absolutely incredible and your vertical format shows off the immense altitude and it looks like they're not done yet with construction. I would not feel safe up there too especially with the incidence of quakes and as you mention the height makes it an easy target. Interestingly, the stop sign on the foreground appears to send the right message. #11300667
