Thanks! I came home from a fruitless attempt to shoot outside, and the sun was just setting on my patio doors, making a great light source on this table. I have a ton of cobalt glass collected over the years, and it looks best when strongly lit from behind. #2105838

Thank you Kiran! I liked how the 2 created different effects with the color... the banding of blues like a topographical map, in the right vase, and the 'braided distortions' of the left. Might have to dig more of my glass out of storage now! #2107271

Christopher, very nice colors and clarity. #2107982

Thanks... I wish I could have all my cobalt displayed with this kind of lighting... too often it moves into very dark blues.

Thank you both! It has me thinking about other pairings, that would create an interestingly-shaped "void" between them... #2116215

WOW! I'm truly surprised that there aren't more comments on this!!!
The colors are intense and clear, the designs within the glass really grab my attention and the composition is outstanding! This is AWESOME!!!! ; )

Then thanks so much for adding such a nice comment, Katrina! :) When I blew out the little hint of curtain that was visible in the background, and that white void space popped into view with the 2 curvy edges as I cropped it, this became one of my top 3 favorite pictures (that I've created) so far! Glad you enjoy it, too! #2143394

Thanks! I was very happy with the result. I love the shades of blue in the image--makes me think of a retail sign graphic you might see, say at Crate & Barrel, in the decorative glass section! #2232842

Chris Budny level-deluxe January 19, 2006

Thanks so much, Andrea... A simple color and shape study, but I've re-entered it in January's contest. Reminds me why I collected cobalt glass all those years, when I see it so brightly lit! #2308022

Just kidding... :)

Thanks, Daniel & Corrine, as well as The Judges! I've spent some time researching commercial back-lit display cabinets since taking this shot, to try and give more of my glass a chance of looking this good on a regular basis! #2451840
