Description

First my kitty Tinkerbell is recovering nicely as is Tiger. Opossums are North America's only marsupial and he earth oldest surviving mammal family. They have thumbs on there back feet. They are a lower risk to humans than dogs and cats. They do not carry rabies, they eat anything and are great at catching rats, snakes, cockroaches and anything it can catch. The males are called Jack and the females Jill. This is Jack. They leave the pouch at 4 month. Few survive to become adults. This one has been hanging around for about a month and is probably 5 months old.
He lives in the garage and under the couch on the back porch.
My deepest condolences to Marijana on her tragic loss of Maza.

Oh, my, Emile. What a great addition to your troupe. Brings back memories. We used to take care of orphaned raccoon babies until they could be returned to the wild. Friends took care of some possum babies for the same purpose. Sometimes they'd carry them around in their pockets to simulate the security of the pouch. #1586288
