THE SVIR RIVER CONNECTS EUROPE'S TWO LARGEST LAKES, LAKE ONEGA TO NORTH WHICH FEEDS INTO LAKE LADOGA. THE RIVER IS HEAVILY UTILIZED FOR NAVIGATION BY CARGO AND CRUISE SHIPS. THERE ARE INDUSTRIAL AND URBAN DEVELOPMENTS ALONG THE RIVER. THIS IS ONE OF THE HOUSING COMPLEXES IN AN INDUSTRIAL AREA. MOST URBAN RUSSIAN LIVE IN SKYSCRAPER APARTMENTS AND THIS IS THE PREFERRED TYPE EVEN IN THESE RURAL INDUSTRIAL AREAS.
