Timber Top Settling Down for the Night

Looking east at Timber Top Mountain at Zion National Park on an early autumn evening provided an array of almost every color in the spectrum. The scene was incredibly serene that evening. The sky was disappointingly dull and I almost left, but a storm bank in the west was all of a sudden back-illuminated by the setting sun and it lit the scene beautifully. It only lasted about 4 minutes, so glad I waited.

5D2, 16-35mm lens, several exposures at f/11.
