Description

Supports for the Golden Gate Bridge with the lighthouse at Fort Point appearing to nestle underneath, at sunset. While the bridge was being built, the original plan was to demolish Fort Point, which was in its path. Fortunately the chief engineer of the bridge recognized its historical value and redesigned the bridge to arch over it.
