Description

lets just say I had a wonderful time getting away but let me say it was soooo cold. this was taken with temp at 48 and wind blowing at 20mph or higher. that was our luck through the whole week. WINDY and cold I could hardly stand out in it let alone think about my setting.

I like it Rita. Lots of depth with the overlapping ridges and the layer of clouds. They sure do look like their namesake. #1551111

Based on most pictues I've see of the Smokies, this was an exceptionally clear day.

I'm seeing a yellow fringe round the tree stump. #10889406

Yeah, the yellow fringe which carries into the trees on the right of the frame is the only issue I see. #10889743

Beautiful-I love the cool colors of this-makes it look cold! I don't see the yellow fringe, but I am not sure what I am supposed to be seeing either... #10889907

I am on a much smaller screen with my laptop so I am not seeing yellow fringe. I do likethis image but think that the shadows could be opened up just a tad. #10890006

Beth Spencer November 03, 2013

I like the many layers in this photo and also the lone tree standing by itself... I would like to see the shadows opened up just a bit. #10890021

The yellow fringe is so slight on my monitor, I think you could almost wish it away. Agree with the others on opening the shadows, but with care not to take it out of balance. I think I would also clone out some of the top branches on the right edge and I may bring the top down just a little so the line of clouds doesn't compete with those beautiful smokey blue ridges. Very nice scenic. Worth a little suffering to get it, I think. #10890028

I like this image very much Rita and for me there is no yellow fringe to detract from it and I even pulled it up on my screen to a 300% magnification.
Praise the Lord for my less than perfect eyesight is what I say! #10890274

thanks so much ok I think I fixed the yellow fringe the best I could and brought out the shadows, got rid of the branches on the right. but just couldn't get the right crop to lower the sky. #10890487

Really like the revision, Rita. I wonder if you could magically grow that dead tree to take it above the clouds, about where the highest part of the white clouds are on the left. At its present height, it causes the eye to stop cold (pun not intended). #10890510

I like the revision, I don't see the yellow fringe. #10890641

here the better one and sorry Susan I couldn't make it taller but I took out the cloud tell me what you think #10890843

Dale Hardin November 04, 2013

Like all your versions, Rita. I'm a sucker for those overlapping ridges.

By the way, on your last version, the cloud removal did the trick, but if you need to "stretch" the tree, its fairly easy. Select the tree and simply extend the size vertically. Do it on another layer, because you will have to clone out the old location. #10890921

Looks great! #10891147
