~Stained Glass Wings~
Uploaded: June 24, 2013
As I was about to shoot a photo of flowers in my garden, a beautiful Monarch Butterfly landed next to me. Without hesitation, I turned to get off two rapid shots and just as quick the butterfly flew off.
Every year I have been begging Val to send me some Monarchs southward from her home town. So thanks Val, it took awhile, but I truly enjoyed the short visit.

A superbly sharp capture!!! #1533642Val Feldman June 24, 2013
Well, you sure made the most of your chance meeting, my friend! Talk about perfect timing on both your parts - it was meant to be. :) Incredible capture of this "flying jewel" and having only 2 chances to capture this "flying jewel" and accomplishing that with such perfect dof, color and clarity - well, that's a testimony to some awesome technical skill on your part...as for Ms. Monarch, well, she sure gave you her best side! :) :) #10744288Terry Cervi June 25, 2013
To have taken this beauty in one of two rapid shots is amazing, Don! If that monarch sat there all day for me to shoot him, I still wouldn't get anything nearly as good as this! Outstanding work!! #10744506Joannie Bertucci June 25, 2013
