Beautiful image Wendy! I've had several requests for the "before and after" pregnancy pics such as this. I'm guessing it's mainly post processing to get the desired image? My thought was to capture the pregnant mom looking into the mirror, erasing the reflection image and them replacing it with the mother and child. How did you go abot getting yours? Thanks in advance! Lovely work! #2008333

I wanted to do the pregnant mom "outside" the mirror, and the "mom and new baby" inside the mirror (sort of looking into the future). But she wanted it where the "inside" picture was the past, and the "outside" was the present. Either way, it was a neat image to put together.

I actually had maternity photos of her standing in front of the mirror, and looking at her reflection, and I intended to use those for my editing. However, I soon realized those photos would require too much editing, due to having to remove one person and also seeing part of the studio in the mirror. Luckily, I had taken a photo of just the mirror when I was working to get my lights right.

I used that photo of the mirror, added a layer of the maternity photo and used a layer mask to only show that "reflection" in the mirror. Then I took another photo of then new mom and baby with the same background and lighting. I selected and copied the mom and baby onto another layer and moved it where it looked natural in the photo. Hope that helps! #2008362
