Remembering My Grandmother
Uploaded: March 29, 2013
My grandmother had a favorite rocking chair that she loved to sit in. She would wrap her lace shawl around her shoulders and look through photographs of the family from her scrapbook. Her lace shawl is draped across the chair. This photo is my representation of a portrait of her.
Taken with a Nikon D7000 and Lensbaby Composer Pro with the Sweet 35 optic with the f4 aperture disc and a tilt on the lens. Post processing in LR4, PSE 10 for layering in a texture, and to NIK Silver Effects for an old time photo.

Looks like you did additional editing on this image. Looks a lot better. #1522173Kalena Randall April 02, 2013
Actually it's an entirely different image. The sweet spot of focus on on the pillow and shawl instead of the clock. I actually made two of the photos in Nik with the antique style and them layered them and added a texture. #10639334Nancyj E. Hovey April 14, 2013
OMGosh, what memories this photo does bring to my mind. The shawl pattern is just like the doily pattern that I made years ago...wish I still Had it. Your presentation has the perfect effect to inspire! I love it...8o) #10653650Kalena Randall April 15, 2013
Thanks, Nancy! I consider this photo a portrait because I can see my grandmother sitting in the chair. She would look at photos or crochet or knit. I wonder what the BP contest would say about this photo?Nancyj E. Hovey April 16, 2013
