Description

---
Not having been a basketball fan (until now), I was unaware of the tradition that follows winning a high school championship. Each member of the team climbs a ladder that has been placed below the basket (the one with which the game was won), scissors in hand. A piece of rope is retained by each member and the remains of the net are bestowed on a coach or outstanding team member.
-----
At the Philadelphia City Championship game last Friday night. The best team from the Catholic League battled the best team from the Public League and won in a hard-fought "nail-biter" of a game!
-----
The boy wearing the rope necklace is a Senior who will be off to college in the Fall.

LOVE this one, Michelle! A wonderful story-telling image (for those who know the story) and for those who don't, thanks for the information. Terrific B&W treatment, too! I was not familiar with BB until I moved to Indiana and got season tickets. Now, with league tournaments and March Madness about to start, it's one of my favorite times of the year. #10604299
