An Old Friend

Uploaded: February 04, 2013

Description

There are LOTS of Gators you can learn to recognize on sight Some are more difficult to distinguish than others ,NOT SO HERE !! Vampire Gator sticks out for two reasons Those protruding LONG from teeth .Plus the fact he's maybe a bit longer than 12 feet.
This was at 70MM and about 16 feet away which is as close as I felt comfortable with. You must remember your NOT ALLOWED TO MOLEST THE GATORS nor FEED THEM.
Keep that 12 Plus in mind.

Exif: F Number: 4, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/8000 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 1600, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 200.00 mm, Model: NIKON D7000

Hmmm, bet the gators aren't allowed to molest the humans or feed them either, but doubt it would stop them from doing it! Still a little too close for my comfort, Jack - but guess I'm glad this old guy is still around! #1512810

He could use a set of braces, that's quite an over bite he has. He probably recognizes you also. When he is staring at you and he starts to drool and lick his lips, it's time to back up a bit.
Great capture Jack, play safe! #10553009

I doubt I would ever consider molesting or feeding them if I ever met one face-to-face. 16 feet? Too close for me! I would need a much longer zoom. Great shot, by the way. #10553111

Fabulous capture, Jack. He looks pretty lazy now but I sure wouldn't want to test him. #10553342

I can sure see how you gave him his name but only 16 feet away is still a little to close for me. I definitely would not want to see what type of damage those protruding front teeth could do. #10554217
