Not Quite A Sleigh

Uploaded: December 17, 2012

Description

The Joy of Santa to kids does not require the Sleigh or even Reindeer . They do get a bit crazy jumping up & down in the street when he shows atop the firetruck w/lights flashing and sirens blaring.
Like most Long Island towns it's a tradition of the volunteer fire departments to go around this way with Santa waving to all those who come out when they hear the sirens.
This was taken Sat. across one of the Brightwaters Lakes & It's the Bay Shore FD .

Exif: F Number: 6.3, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/640 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 86.00 mm, Model: NIKON D7000

Kids don't care how he shows up, just as long as he does. #1503947

How unique to have Santa turn up on a fire truck, quite a sight I should imagine. Great shot Jack. #10467817

You have captured the joy of Christmas here Jack! Our fire station does a similar trip, but uses the occasion to collect much needed donations!
I feel for Santa, it can be up to 100ºF during the event, and I don't think his santa suit is all that cool! #10467958

Terrific capture, Jack! Our fire truck Santa came by yesterday and I was too slow getting my camera ready. Fortunately another Santa is visiting my school this week, so I'll be prepared.

I think I missed our Santa Engine...but it looks SO different here. One day I will capture it...but it's always on a cold night. Brr. Nice in your neighborhood. #10468229
