ok I am not sure how I feel about this one Brandi. I like the idea, I think them kissing just not cropped in the middle of thier faces. it takes away from why I need to save that date. then the other distraction I am finding is in the clip on the sign and hand on the left, and then the light stops on the gentleman pants between his legs I would clone thoses out. #1501681

So this is why I don't comment on people and wedding submissions. I would have taken this at face value -- someone's cute (I mean that as a compliment) idea for a wedding announcement and left it at that. These days, "There are no rules"! Right? I was even sympathetic to the crop.

I takes someone more attuned to these things to suggest whether or not all these items that would be true in landscape or architecture image are really significant in this one. #10448968

A very cute idea Brandi and a with good focus and lighting.

I do wish though, that I could see the faces so I'd know who was making the request. The other items are not issues for me. #10449127

Hi Brandi-I really like the idea of this, but I have to agree with Rita-the cropped faces really bother me. Not sure why-maybe because they seem to be anonymous, and they shouldn't be. I thnk this would be adorable if you have a shot that includes their heads. Very creative idea though! #10449303

I guess I am to old fassioned for this to work for me. A number of minor issues but having the faces cut off is a show stopper. #10449321

Teresa H. Hunt December 03, 2012

So Mike do you mean show stopper in a good way or a bad way?

I really like this shot Brandi. I've seen these types of photos before, where the couples faces are cropped and they work. However I think the placement of the crop here is what's causing the problem. Their kiss is crowded at the very top of the frame. I think a smidge more room would help with the effect you're going for. :) #10449475

The cropping off of heads was actually the brides request. Wondered what you all would think. #10449510

One of the reasons I don't do these kind of shoots, but if that is what the client wants... #10449521

It's original and probably has no purpose other than to remind friends and family of the wedding date so I guess it works. Shame about the faces. It might be one of my nieces so she will have to forgive me when I don't send a gift. #10450390

The mystery is revealed!
Here are a couple where you can see their faces :) #10450620

I like the idea, but want to see the faces. #10450826

Oops! The pictures I posted earlier didn't show up. #10450906

Oh my gosh what a cute couple! WHY would they want their faces cut off? I love these pictures. I think on the second photo their faces may be overexposed, but other than that, I really do like them a lot:) #10450926

Dale Hardin December 04, 2012

I agree with Elaine, they are a lovely couple that should never hide their faces. That second shot is beautiful. #10451052

Michael Kelly level-classic December 04, 2012

Ah, much better at least for me. Don't know why she would want one without faces as the look like a great couple. #10451089

Hey, if that's what the client wants, that's what the client wants. . . .

Personally, I prefer the un-cropped version. #10451232

clients always win but agree with Teresa that maybe its where the crop is... for not showing thier faces, that is the problem. a 7x5 crop right below his chin works well #10452212

Brandi I am really late to the party. Hopefully, by next week, I will be on my way to being "normal" again or whatever that means!! It's pretty much already be said and I am in the camp where we like to see faces not cut off. But it's not your fault if that is what the couple asked for. Yikes, another reason why I'm not a portrait photographer. What were they thinking? I might have suggested photographing them from behind with the signs propped in front of their backsides -- but it would have been with the backs of their heads totally in the shot - probably leaning into each other with their heads touching. #10452735
