That's really sweet. :) I wonder who Chloe is?

I think to make the image a little stronger you could crop some off the bottom. That way the viewer doesn't have to search for Chloe. :) #1501351

I know what you are saying Teresa but I cropped it this way deliberately so that a viewer would be forced to seek out the reason for the title. And I made sure the little rock was right up there on the top and right thirds so that you would all give me break with that! :0)

Ah, I too would like a sightly tighter crop...although I looked at the picture first, then read the title later, and finding the name in all that rock was such a nice surprise, that come to think of it, maybe a tighter crop is not the way to go :) #10445840

I like the comp and think the rock with the tribute pulls you right to it. Great detail. You might lower the highlights just a touch and perhaps a slight burn of the rock just to the upper left of the Cloe rock. This will keep that bright spot from competing. #10445926

Thanks all. And no, Beth I didn't place the rock up there. After I made the shot I wondered if Chloe's sweetheart hoped it would still be there when they next visited Cornwall. Hey, I'm an old romantic and that very beach was less than a mile from my boyhood home and there was many a youthful tryst played out there. All very innocent stuff (well, till later in life) and I too have scraped initials with a sharp rock on the cliff face or even just 'pledged my troth' in the wet sand there knowing that it would be washed away by the next tide, which was kind of appropriate as tomorrow her vacation would be over and she would be returning to London or where ever and we would never meet again. It was good to be young! #10450893
