Great star burst you achieved in this shot Kristin. I really like how the one ray comes all the way to the corner turning prismatic across the snow.

I think this shot could benefit from several small adjustments.

Color cast. The lighting looks off just a touch but can be fixed just by using the WB tool in ACR. I would click around the snow areas in the lower left. Pick the result you like best. Should be slightly cooler with a big adjustment in tint which will remove the slight greenish cast.

Shadows should be opened a bit to taste. I am not going to try and give a setting just open them up a bit either in RAW or the shadows highlight tool.

Just a bit of sharpening would help either with the high pass filter or unsharp mask. #1499091

I agree with Mike's suggestions. This is a really cool capture and a few minor tweaks will put it over the top. #10424476

Oooo I like this one. I love the starburst and the soft effect on the water. I think Mike's suggestions are just what it needs :) #10424605

This is a great shot, and I think you have some great suggestions, so I will wait and see what you do. #10424778

I am going to happily wait to see any adjustments you make Kristin. I rarely react negatively to any color cast unless it's a vivid magenta or the like but even then, because I seem to see most of life through the proverbial "rose tinted spectacles" I have a huge level of tolerance.
So I am enjoying this image even as it stands. #10425304

Ooo very pretty sunstar! :~) I think the suggestions you've gotten already are good ones and will wait to see what they look like. I like the composition...has a nice diagonal as well as a third thing going on. #10425905

Kristin - sorry to be so late with my comments. All has been said before I even got here. A great shot as is, but I think I would like to see the tweaks. Even if you don't like the tweaks, it is a process that makes us more aware of what we are doing and it gives us ideas for other shots as well. #10429237

Much better - I like how it is a much brighter whiter snow scene now along with all the original good stuff. #10432717
