COMMUNING W/Nature
Uploaded: November 10, 2012
Taken at the Animal Kingdom Disney.
This big fellow seemed to be enjoying the warm sunshine and his overall surroundings in the Bachelor's quarters for the Smaller Silverbacks.
Certainly one of the Must See Areas in Disney if your there w/the Grand Kids or just enjoy Wildlife in Natural Enclosures.

Our local zoo in ChCh, New Zealand, will be getting our very first Silverbacks sometime in the next two years, only zoo in New Zealand to have them. I'm not sure where they are coming from, but they are coming from another zoo somewhere in the world and they are going to Orana Park which is a fantastic zoo, all open range. Can't wait to see them. This image just makes me want that to happen quicker. This is a great shot Jack, looks like he's in the wild and not in a zoo at all. As for the cygnets they seem to start turning black at about six months, but have never really seen them through the whole process because at about six months their parents want rid of them and I never see them after that. #10412857Tiia Vissak November 10, 2012

Marvelous capture of this silverback, Jack! Very natural - looks like he's in Rwanda and not at a zoo at all. He's a great looking specimen (although I've never actually seen one)! Thanks for your comments on my stork and bison - I should have dedicated the bison one to you since I never would have thought to go looking otherwise! #10413602Antonio Amen November 11, 2012
