Coyote in Pain

Uploaded: November 01, 2012

Description

When I came across this coyote, he was on the road licking something off the pavement. He moved off when I approached and sniffed around at prairie dog burrows, but he kept wanting to go back on the pavement. While I was watching him, he kept sticking out his tongue and licking his muzzle. He seems to be in some pain, so I don't know if something bit him on the nose or if his tongue is raw from licking the pavement clean of a road kill.

Adjusted in PSE7.
