Butterflies of Arizona - Sulphur

Uploaded: October 04, 2012

Description

Ok, I am taking the easy way out. I know it's some kind of sulphur but I am not sure which kind. The little bit of pink on its face reminds me of the pink spotted sulphurs we have in Pennsylvania but this one does not have enough pink even if he would have been spotted in the east. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will identify the species. I took this shot at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. These guys would stay put once landed. The trick was finding them -- which was difficult even if you did think you saw one land. I also tried to be respectful and stay on the trail even though going off the trail might have given me a better shot.
