Description

The William G Mather was built in 1925 for the Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company. She is a straight deck bulk carrier with a 14,000 ton capacity. She is 618 feet long, 62 feet wide and 32 feet tall. She hauled iron ore on the great lakes for 55 years before being retired in 1980. She is now owned by the Great Lakes Historical Society and serves as a floating maritime museum.
