Description

We had hoped to see our first puffin at Látrabjarg on day 4 of the trip; instead, it was not until day 8, near Vik, visiting cliffs at Dyrhólaey.
There, hundreds of puffins dotted the cliffs, and you could easily get within 10 feet of some of them. They're quite charming to watch!
The weather was the worst we had (chilly, windy, rainy all day) and watching the puffins fly into and land in the strong winds was somewhat comical.

Yes, lucky you. The closest I'll ever get is the zoo and there they are behind glass that they keep so water speckled from their antics that it's impossible to shoot through. Wonderful to observe, though. Terrific shot - love the absolutely direct eye contact :) #10329033
