Description

My nephew wanted to play on the beach. He took off his shoes a little too late to save them from the water and sand

I like how the lines in the background lead the eye to his shoes...great composition!

Thank you so much, Katrina. I just wish I had done that on purpose. Sigh. But in time....I hope. #1966896

Dee, again, I look at your pics a long time before I come up with criticism. This is great! The lines, the color, the composition as Katrina said. So I try to wonder why it's not a finalist or a contest winner. I'm still not sure, but what I get is a sense that theres some little thing missing that I don't know about. I can say possibly it matters that I don't look at the pic and see sandy or wet shoes as implied by your caption. Maybe it's what the pic communicates or doesn't to me that makes some difference here. Hey, I hope this makes sense, I'm figuring out as I go. #2067191

Thank you, Laura! I'll have to double check on whether I entered this one in the contest or not (I normally do just in case...KWIM?). #2070639

I really like the picture but, like Laura, I do not see sandy or wet shoes. #2139003

That's funny. When I look at it, the sand is the first thing that hits me. Maybe because I was there and had to shake it out for him. :) Oh well. But thanks Kate! #2139144

yes, it is great composition. lighting, focussing, contrast on the shoe is amazing. eventhough sand between the lines lead eye to shoes and base disturbing a little. #3280828
