It's not often that having your subject obscured by an intervening object works, but you pulled it off on this one Kristin. Nice job. #10286203

You really got the bee in great focus!! I think you did good on this one!! Is this Bee Balm? We have bright red growing wild and then this year where we put the garden there is some lavender ones. These flowers remind me of a bad petal day! LOL! #10286233

Yeah, this is fantastic. I love that he is buried in the flower, very cool! #10286247

Great shot Kristin. Stephen's right, it doesn't always work to have the subject partially obscured, but you pulled it off with this shot! :) #10286269

Well done Kristin. Excellent choice of parameters to get this deep a focus. Like it. #10287046

Beautiful colors and clarity. Bees are a favorite subject of mine and you have shown why in this terrific shot. #10287225

I concur with what the others have said Kristin. The title fits so well; I have no idea if bees 'think' but if they do then you are spot on! Nearly all the flowers in our yard are dried up like this one and I am filling the humming bird feeders every day as a result of this drought and 100 degree days. #10288158

I hate that I can't get out into the yard where I know there are lots of bees on my flowers but am so glad to see that some of you have gotten great shots of the little guys. I love this shot, Kristin and your title pulls it altogether and really delivers. #10289218

Thanks everyone...I am not into RAW yet but have become comfortable shooting in manual only. Love it!One day soon I will put on my big girl panties and give RAW a go...baby steps! #10290216

Go RAW!!!! Honestly, I remember being so scared, but you don't really have to know how to use it to try it. You can shoot so your camera is saving the images in RAW and jpeg... then you can play with the RAW while still having the jpeg there. I did that for a while, then eventually just switched to RAW :) #10290308
