Thanks Kay! Sometimes you have to make a few adjustments to get the most out of a composition - I walked the can around for a half an hour, shooting different backgrounds... Then I properly disposed of it, bien sûr!C #1952928

Thank you Michelle. I'm adding a comment to the description, because I forgot to mention that I used all manual settings here. Basically, most camera sensors have a hard time reproducing the feeling of fading daylight, because they'll try hard to eke out as much light as possible. That's why the shutter speed is so high, in order to make the background quite muted. Then the small aperature allows for sufficient depth of field, but also, very important, keeps the flash from blowing out the foreground, close in. The *only* way to achieve this kind of mix, which goes completely against the camera's "instinct" is to take full manual control...Cheers,
