This house was on a street in the heart of the ghetto in the small town that I live in. After noticeing its harrowing beauty I became intrigued with it and whoever lived there's story. I stopped the car and used my head lights as a illumination. It was one of those nights where the air is filled with moisture but there is no rain. You can stick your tounge out and taste the wetness from the pink cloudy sky. I snapped a couple of pics and took off not wanting to "hang out" in the ghetto long enough to rouse suspicion. Being a journalist I came back the next day to try and learn, or feel what the person who did this meant. I went to the door and a child answered. I flashed my press pass(a key to hard to reach places or stories) and soon talked to the grandmother. Apparently a extended family lived there, and children and grandkids looked me up with caution. The grandma( I wont use her name) invited me in, but for some reason I declined? (Respect maybee, or fear?) I told her that her use of styrofoam cups was interesting, she smiled and I thought I saw a little blush in her old yet energetic face. She told me times had been tough, not just for her, but for lots of people around there. She said she was also frightned by what she saw on sept. 11, and she just wanted people to see her lords name, her hopes name, while driving during there day. Not being a religious person.....I have a huge respect for her. If more of us can do little things that we feel matter than this crazy hypocritical world we live in might be a little better. So I left, and for some reason I didnt run in our paper. So I am sharing this image with you.

The dead tree....the tear in the clouds above the house......I felt this picture. I dont mean to be a sap, thanx for reading....Matt #40294

Thanks guys! To be honest I was drunk when I posted this. I was getting sentimental maaayyybbeee! But I like a history to go with certain pictures. And I know people usually post info about their pics, but they dont go into any real detail. This site can be condusive for writing as well, I need practice, my grammer and spelling are horriable. So Im going to somtimes make a consious effort to do a little more on comments and the such. This is a social community and communites need information, Thanks again. #119475
