Yellow Ground Orchid

Uploaded: July 06, 2012

Description

This was a major endeavor to take this picture! I first started by trying to shoot this orchid in my yard where it was growing. TOO windy, mosquitos, and cramped in the bushes... So, after I lost my mind, I decided to actually pick the flower and take it up into my covered porch. I set it up on a piece of black felt, and leaned the camera on my rice pillow and set the self timer. Found I liked the smallest aperture f22 which showed the most detail. Used 3 extension tubes; 12, 20, 36mm.

Exif: F Number: 22, Exposure Bias Value: -0.67, ExposureTime: 3/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 100, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 50.00 mm, Model: NIKON D90
