My husband, Bob, was sharing a very special moment with Bailey, our Golden Retriever, during a morning walk at Hilton Head Island.

Bailey is a registered therapy dog and has literally brought smiles to hundreds of children and adults during visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and grade schools over the years.

In January, our 10-year-old pup was diagnosed with lymphoma, and has been going through a chemotherapy treatment protocol. He's in total remission, and is doing very well. He has taught us that every day is a gift.

Fiddled in the digital darkroom and added a few textures.

Bailey is tolerating the chemo pretty well. He's now beginning the final of three cycles of chemo -- with an every other week schedule. He's in the home stretch. #10083893

So sorry to hear about Bailey's health issue but thrilled that he is in total remission!! Didn't know Bailey was a Therapy Dog. God Bless him and you. I know how much comfort our dog at the time gave me in a couple of health issues I had. There's nothing better than having your dog jump up on your bed and snuggle up.

How's Bob doing? I remember when I was there in 2010 he was still in therapy. Hope he too is doing well.
