DINING HABITS

Uploaded: April 10, 2012

Description

Seems that these fellows all enjoy stripping the bark from small twigs by pulling it across their teeth like
Dental Floss.
My friend Jeff Bange posted the same activity yesterday from the Big Silverback at the Bronx Zoo.
Mine is from Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I doubt they attended a dining in captivity class together so it must be a common behavior.

Terrific capture, Jack - I've seen the same thing at the Columbus, Ohio, zoo. Now that I think about it, I've noticed a couple of our friends doing it after back-yard cookouts, too! #10083757

Hey Jack great capture, I wonder if the two of them are related. As many times that I've been to Animal Kingdom I have never stopped to take a picture of the Gorillas, I guess I will have to check them out when I go down in October. #10086078
