Ok folks...this may not look like much work to you but I have to tell you I am so excited I am doing the happy dance! Not being at ALL computer literate, I have managed to take this photo from my desktop, import it to PSE, modify it to no great degree as I need to learn the process, save it and get it back to this site. Not a big deal for most of you but huge for me! So ta da! And ps Dale, I have gotten thru 3 tutorials and I am working on it...work is getting in the way of my social life but at least it is someplace nice! #1452376Jeff E Jensen March 26, 2012
Congrats Kristin! That is a huge accomplishment. I remember when I first started using PSE, it could be a bit intimidating, that is for sure. Keep after it, in no time you will be a pro.You did good work on this image, by the way. #10059793

Plus -- Kristin, this is a gorgeous image. Very nicel Eden and photographed. I have only been to Kauai and would live to see more islands. #10059794Debbie E. Payne March 26, 2012
I am typing on my iPad and didn't realize that it didn't like what I was trying to say the second sentence which was supposed to read "Very nicely seen and photographed!".Kristin Duff March 26, 2012
I don't know, I think Eden pretty much describes it! It made total sense to me! #10059817Debbie E. Payne March 26, 2012
That, too, Kristin. See I could have kept my mouth shut and no one would ever have known the error of my ways.Carla Capra Anderson March 27, 2012
Very lovely and congrats on your processing. #10060892Aimee C. Eisaman March 27, 2012
Whooohoo Kristin!!! I too can remember my first days of PSE and figuring out how to do everything. There is so much that it is easy to be overwhelmed. This is a beautiful shot....looks like a postcard! :~) You are dedicated and that is what will make the difference in your learning more about photography and photo editing. #10061205Kristin Duff March 27, 2012

Way to go girl!! So proud of you. Maui is my favorite island and I know this spot well. When you get the new CD I sent, be sure to check out the "straighen" tool and apply it to the horizon. (In Phellos, that's an inside joke) I'm a nut about straight horizons. :o)
Congratulations on a super job. Love it. #10061297
Kristin Duff March 27, 2012
Dale, does that horizon look crooked?Dale Hardin March 27, 2012
LOL, don't worry about it. :o) It's just a bit off. Scroll the image up against the line at the top of the page and you'll see. If it's even 1/2 degree off, I spot it. Can't help it. It's an affliction. :o) #10061889Michael Kelly March 27, 2012
A beautiful shot Kristin. I see nothing that needs a change here. The horizon looks straight to me. The problem with ocean shots is that you get wave action that can give the illusion at times that things are not straight.I still remember struggling with the powerful editing software. There is so much that you can do. it can get very complex with a steep learning curve. The good thing is like most complex tasks they become almost second nature with practice. We will help so don't be afraid to ask on anything you don't understand. We have all been there so don't feel you have to be an expert by next week. #10061930

I'm such a goofus Kristin and Mike. Like I said, it's not much. Actually only 0.5 (1/2) degree off. Just trying to point you to some of the tools etc. and to aggravate Mike and others that don't see it. LOL!! #10061937Kristin Duff March 27, 2012
well thanks for the tip Dale and you are right, it is off by a fraction...And thank you all for your encouragement. I truly am excited to have the tutelage of so many talented photographers! I am off to Maui again in the morning so I will go retake this shot Dale, and get that horizon straight! still lol... #10062142Beth Spencer March 27, 2012
Congratulations to you!!! Your are making a lot of progress in a short time, keep it up!!! I think you did a great job with this shot!! #10062272Aimee C. Eisaman March 28, 2012
That's fine if you want to try it again, but please don't toss this shot because it is an easy fix once you get into using PSE. :~) #10063039Ellen H. Robertson March 28, 2012
Beautiful shot, beautifully done. Very very well done. And you have to watch PSE it is very addictive. And you have the best right here. #10063748Teresa H. Hunt March 28, 2012
Beautiful photo!! And congrats on making progress. Slowly but surley you'll figure it out. I still get overwhelmed sometimes. :) #10063960Stephen Shoff March 28, 2012
You captured that sunset as nicely as any I've seen. good job. #10064377Kristin Duff March 30, 2012
for Dale... a straight horizon. Can now say I know how to use 1 tool in PSE! #10068056Dale Hardin March 30, 2012
It is indeed Kristin, and I envy you being there to take it. Very lovely scene by the way. #10068091Aimee C. Eisaman March 31, 2012
