Prominent Defense
Uploaded: January 04, 2012
A similar version this Black-spotted Prominent Caterpillar and a Crab Spider was posted in 2008. (...entitled, "The Duel") It's rewarding when we encounter naturally-occurring interactions between species. This little was captured in the field as it unfolded and comprised less than 1 1/2" of real estate. Since both combatants seemed unscathed and went their separate ways, the fight appeared to have ended in a draw.
