Flying Solo #2
Uploaded: November 24, 2011
A much calmer day at The Backwash. The weather was cold, grey & occasionally wet. What drew me to make this seascape was the contrast between the dark, rugged rocks and the softness of the foam being carried away by the current.
Shot from the edge of the cliff near the bottom car park at Tacking Point in Port Macquarie, Mid-north Coast, NSW, Australia.
Canon EOS D60 with Canon 28-135mm IS USM lens: RAW, f/16 @ 1/350sec, m50mm, ISO 100.
Lightroom 2.2 & Photoshop CS3.
Exif: F Number: 16, Exposure Bias Value: -0.50, ExposureTime: 1/350 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 100, FocalLength: 50.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS D60

The Making of 'Flying Solo #2':Though I was very happy with the end result the image lacked that certain 'something'. I rummaged around in my bird files, found a suitable seagull, resized and prepared it and placed it in just the right place. Rarely do I resort to this kind of thing and I will always admit to it when I do, so don't shoot me.
The fourteenth in a series of nineteen waterscape photographs chosen by the developers of Coast Apartments in my home town of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. The large black and white prints grace the walls of the foyers, gymnasium and lift on permanent display in the luxury complex.
The series gives the viewer a journey from the Hastings River, that runs through the town and down the coast to The Gap at Diamond Head Beach in the Crowdy Bay National Park.
Enjoy!
