Hi, Gerda:Well done. You've managed to expose this photo very well. It is difficult to capture snow and ice, while maintaining the correct expsoure for other elements.
I am also glad that you captured this, as I am Canadian and I watched the event on a local news channel. It was very difficult to see the sculptures on video. You've done a good job.

Thank you so much, Glenn. You're right. I can understand why it was hard to see the sculptures on the video. Nathan Phillips Square here in Toronto where the sculptures are on display is all lit with holiday lights and coloured flood lights--and is jammed with people, many of them, as I was, wielding cameras and tripods. I gave up on preserving the festive background because, with it, the sculptures had to fight for attention, and I thought they deserved better. So I used a fill layer of black and the eraser tool to substitute the plain black background for the scene in the square. I'm delighted you enjoyed the image. #4306Donna R.
